Ancient World Map

Today I want to begin a new series, related to watching for our Lord’s return. If you are a regular listener to this podcast then, like me, you are awaiting the return of Yeshua HaMeshiach, Jesus the Messiah. When that time approaches, Gog of Magog will invade Israel along with his confederation. We studied this in our Ezekiel 38 & 39 Study, a 12 part series. This battle is also referred to as the Battle of Armageddon. Just prior to this invasion there will need to be a final alignment of the nations. In other words all the involved nations must exist and be politically aligned as dictated by prophecy and God’s sovereign plan. I’m confident we are not at that point and Yeshua’s return is not imminent, expectant yes, but not imminent. Its time we review current events in light of HaAcharit HaYamim, The Last Days, as foretold by scripture.

At the same time, this series will emphasize the accuracy and inspired nature of scripture, and thus validate all that it contains. We cannot escape the undeniable evidence that The God exists, his Word is true and thus there are in fact promises and judgments to come. This could just as easily be a study about Evidence that Demands Faith. Blind faith is no faith at all but is simply brainwashing. Such “faith” has a fractured foundation and will not stand. There must be evidence to validate or justify ones faith. This study will provide that.

As we work through this series we will draw upon many of our past studies including Daniel, Ezekiel 38 & 39, Revelation, and other Prophetic passages.

Lets begin early in the 20th century. Here is a map of the Middle East as it was in 1914.

The map above is much different than today, about 100 years later, which is a blink of the eye in the timeline of human history. Of course the State of Israel did not exist, a sovereign Egypt did not exist as it was occupied and controlled by Britain. Neither did Libya, Sudan, and Yemen exist. The Ottoman Empire engulfed present day Syria, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. Only the Biblical nation Persia (Iran) existed. Why is this important? The ancient nations of Egypt, Persia (Iran), Babylon (Iraq), Greece (Syria), and Israel  were all foretold to reemerge in the last days, setting the final alignment of the world’s nations prior to Yehovah’s return. The purpose of this study is to one; compare prophecy with current geopolitics  – is everything in place? and two; demonstrate the undeniable divine nature of scripture and therefore discover our certain destiny. We will investigate these nations, their Biblical past, Biblical future, and current state. Before we review individual nations beginning with Israel, we must first review the Biblical prophecies that tell us what regions and nations to anticipate their rebirth.

I will refer to this diagram, taken from our study of the book of Daniel.

Beasts of Daniel and Revelation

During our next time together we will review the prophetic and miraculous rebirth of Israel. Until then God Bless.
